According to the Energy Star Department approximately 75% of air conditioning systems have the incorrect amount of refrigerant which can lead to lower efficiency by 5%-20%.  Worn components such as starters, motors, relays, and loose connections can occur at any time. These things can ultimately cause premature component failure, resulting in costly repairs that could have been prevented.
